Business correspondence and financial records kept by Raymond & Co. (and its predecessor Raymond & Fullerton), a mercantile firm in New York City. Records deal primarily with the importation from Great Britain of iron and manufactured parts for railroad cars. Correspondents include the Bowling Iron Works (near Bradford, Eng.) and numerous American railroad companies. Also contains records relating to the "Exhibition of the Industry of All Nations" held in N.Y. in 1853 and the salvaging of the cargo of the ship "Massachusetts" which sank off the coast of Great Britain in 1853.
